Calder Consort

The Calder Consort is an early music ensemble, founded in Liverpool during 2022 by organist and director, Dylan McCaig and soprano, Aimée Harris. The Calder Consort has since developed, with baroque cellist Matthew Phillips, baroque violinist Amy Price and theorbist Kristiina Watt joining the ensemble in 2023.

The ensemble is based in North Oxfordshire (Dylan) and Liverpool (Aimée), with the ensemble debuting at St Mary's Church, Banbury in 2023 with their successful concert, 'Ornament of the Earth' which included a performance of one of G.F. Handel's hidden gems, HWV 202-210 (the Nine German Arias).

The ensemble is passionate about period performance, rarely performed/standalone vocal and ensemble works and their goal of creating a greater awareness of early music within secondary music education.
