Eden Baroque

Katharine May and Michael Sanderson established Eden Baroque shortly after moving to Cumbria from Berkshire in 2017 with the aim of bringing well-known and less performed baroque chamber music to as wide an audience as possible. Their first concert in Great Salkeld was followed by performances in Keswick, Askham Hall, Patterdale Church, Hutton-in-the-Forest and with the Herdwyck Consort in Kirkby Stephen. They have twice appeared on BBC Cumbria's Arty Show and have given a feature interview to Cumbria Life magazine. They recorded their first CD with the guitarist Ian Gammie before making their Christmas CD in Eden in 2021.

In April 2024 they tutored their second baroque chamber music course at Higham Hall, Bassenthwaite Lake. Recently they have given a joint with the Penrith Singers as well as performances for Alnwick, Hawick, Grange-over-Sands, Tatham Fell Beetham, Aberfoyle and Grimsby music clubs with future performances for Lanark Music Club, the Heron Theatre Beetham, Carlisle Cathedral as well as their own concert series in their converted barn in the Eden Valley.

They have recently been selected by Making Music to appear in their Recommended Artists Guide, and currently have over 25 programmes to offer including several for the festive season.
