Holly Harman

Violin

Holly Harman is a distinguished baroque violinist with a deep connection to the music of the Baroque period. From an early age, Holly displayed an affinity for the violin, but her fascination with historical performance practices led her to specialise at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Andrea Jones and Rachel Podger. Holly has toured and recorded with some of Europe’s premier orchestras and ensembles including the Gabrieli Consort and Players, the Academy of Ancient Music, and Early Opera Company.

She is equally passionate about exploring the intersection of baroque and folk traditions, often incorporating folk elements into her performances to create a unique musical experience. After cutting her teeth on the London folk scene, Holly released a disc with The Twisted Twenty to wide acclaim. Consequently she created her own record label, Penny Fiddle Records, a ground-breaking label dedicated to multi-genre, unclassifiable and unexplored string music. 2025 will see the release of Holly's debut solo album, Ground , which includes the elegance of early baroque music with the emotive melodies of folk traditions, and well as a newly commissioned work by composer and vocalist/violinist Alice Zawadzki, that reflect her vision of a harmonious fusion of genres.
