Jane Gordon

Violin

Described as playing with ‘glowing conviction’ (Financial Times) and a ‘ravishing tone and depth of timbre’ (The Independent), Jane’s musical activities span classical concerti, solo recitals, a wide variety of chamber music, period instrument performance and play/directing orchestras from the violin. Jane is also artistic director of Hastings Early Music Festival.

In 2021 Jane released her debut solo album of Faure Sonatas with Resonus Classics with pianist Jan Rautio performing on an Erard piano. As violinist in the Rautio Piano Trio, she has released three critically acclaimed discs, also for Resonus Classics. Their début disc features Mozart piano trios recorded on a fortepiano belonging to the late Christopher Hogwood. It was hailed by the Observer as ‘an impressive achievement’ and received multiple five-star reviews. They are currently recording the complete cycle of Beethoven Trios on fortepiano. (More details on the Rautio Piano Trio site).
