Sara Stowe

Harpsichord, Voice

Sara Stowe studied piano and harpsichord on a Foundation Scholarship at the Royal College of music where she won the Raymond Russell and Harpsichord Continuo prizes. A British Council Advanced Training enabled her to study singing in Milan and she now pursues a dual career as singer and keyboardist with Galliarda and Sirinu. She has recently received funding awards from the Diane Ambache Foundation, the Continuo Foundation and the RVWFoundation, to research, perform and record both early and new music with ensembles Galliarda and Sirinu. These awards have enabled Galliarda to record songs and masque music by John Wilson on Tremula, and for Sara to record two CDs of baroque and modern harpsichord music from the USA and Europe, also on Tremula.

Her career embraces both early and contemporary music performances in Europe and South America. She worked with Luciano Berio in Italy and in England with Academy of Ancient Music, at notable venues including the Barbican, South Bank Centre, and York and Utrecht Early Music Festivals.
