The Comic Muse

continuo logoSupported by a grant from Continuo Foundation

Born Catherine Raftor in 1711, actress, soprano, and London stage star Mrs. Clive negotiated the raucous, fast-moving, and sometimes unforgiving London theatre world with intelligence and grace. Rising stars Apollo’s Cabinet are a Baroque ensemble whose immersive performances include song, music and narration.

Featuring music by Handel, Thomas Arne and Geminiani, this semi-staged performance shines a light on Kitty’s world and showcases the vibrancy of mid-Eighteenth-century theatre, where ‘Baroque meets Bridgerton’.
