The early music ensemble Florilegium makes a welcome return to Bath Bachfest after several years absence. Specialists in the Baroque period this outstanding ensemble, much praised for its stylish interpretation, brings a programme dedicated to the music of J S Bach, his son Carl Philipp Emanuel, and their friend and godfather respectively, Georg Telemann. They will be joined by mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston, a BBC New Generation artist, for two cantatas, including Bach’s famously moving and emotional Vegnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust BWV 170.
