Intesa

Early Music II: Venetian Chants

Early Music II: Venetian Chants
Intesa is a viola da gamba duo that specialises in mixed programmes of Italian renaissance and baroque music, interspersed with art songs and folk singing. This programme is inspired by San Lazzaro degli Armeni, a small island in the Venetian lagoon with an Armenian Catholic monastery built in the early 18th Century. Transitioning between pieces from distant origins (dance music, songs about love, and tales of migration), Intesa creates connections through common emotion, narrative, and sound in a programme that starts in early morning and ends in the dead of night.
