Haunted Landscapes

Linnet Baroque players Elin Harries (soprano & classical harp) and Asako Ogawah(arpsichord) explore early English classical songs by Haydn, Storace, Pleyel, Broderip, Salamon, duets for harp and harpsichord by Weippert and folk song settings.
With texts by the 'Boneyard Boys' of the mid to late 18th C, who were obsessed by ivy-clad ruins and meditations on mortality and the Bluestockings, a group of 'liberal' and educated high-society ladies, who were politically and socially influential with their calls for the abolition of slavery and religious tolerance.
A variety of domestic scenes and landscapes, social & geographical, are represented in this hour long concert.

'Haunted Landscapes' is the last of Linnet Baroque's 3 nature-themed concerts at the wonderful grade-1 listed Forty Hall in Enfield EN2 9HA
