Haunted Landscapes
Linnet Baroque players Elin Harries (soprano & classical harp) and Asako Ogawah(arpsichord) explore early English classical songs by Haydn, Storace, Pleyel, Broderip, Salamon, duets for harp and harpsichord by Weippert and folk song settings.
With texts by t​he 'Boneyard Boys' of the mid to late 18th C, who were obsessed by ivy-clad ruins and meditations on mortality and the Bluestockings, a group of 'liberal' and educated high-society ladies, who were politically and socially influential with their calls for the abolition of slavery and religious tolerance.
A variety of domestic scenes and landscapes, social & geographical, are represented in this hour long concert.
