Plays John Bull

Maciej Skrzeczkowski (2001) is a Polish harpsichordist and fortepianist. He received awards in numerous piano and harpsichord competitions in Poland and abroad, the most important being the 3rd prize on Concorso Internazionale di Clavicembalo in Milan in 2019 and 1st prize and Outhere award on Musica Antiqua Competition in Bruges 2023, where he was one of the youngest winners in the long history of this contest.

He graduated from Zenon Brzewski’s Secondary Music School in Warsaw, Poland on both modern piano and harpsichord, where he worked with Marek Bracha and Beata Popis. Currently he is studying harpsichord and fortepiano at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Carole Cerasi, Bart van Oort and Petra Somlaï.

In 2019, he took part in his phonographic debut recording “Concertino per clavicembalo e dieci strumenti” by Roman Palester with Sinfonia Iuventus conducted by Łukasz Borowicz in the Concert Studio of the Polish Radio.

He has been further mastering his skills by attending masterclasses with Skip Sempe, Pierre Hantai, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Elżbieta Stefańska, Katarzyna Drogosz, Tobias Koch, Nikolai Demidenko, Kristian Bezuidenhout and Christophe Rousset.
