Julian Perkins

Meet the Harpsichord

Meet the harpsichord, for pianists and organists, with Julian Perkins

Meet the Harpsichord
An opportunity to play the harpsichord with expert tuition on the technique and expressive power of this instrument; or you can watch, enjoy the music, and learn.

Julian Perkins directs the Cambridge Handel Opera Company and the Portland Baroque Orchestra, Oregon; he is also a distinguished harpsichord and clavichord player, and an experienced teacher.

This workshop will start with a brief introduction to the harpsichord. Then each performer will play a short piece (or section of a piece), and Julian will work with them, as in a masterclass. Numbers will be strictly limited to allow a reasonable amount of time for each performer.

Observers' tickets are for audience members; and at the end of the workshop there will be an opportunity for observers to try out the harpsichord in an informal setting.

Advance booking is essential, as numbers are strictly limited.
