What better way to open the 2024 Chipping Campden Music Festival than with a “fanfare” programme from The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment featuring their remarkable trumpeter David Blackadder. The OAE have been at the forefront of historically-informed performance practice ever since their formation in 1986, but they are no museum-piece ensemble, rather a group of musicians inspired by an era that saw huge advances in scientific, philosophical and artistic development.
