Flora Fontanelli
Violin
Flora is a hungarian-born Italian violinist based in London. She is currently a freelance musician working with chamber groups and orchestras such as the Hallé, the City of London Sinfonia and the Orchestra Leonore (IT), among others. She enjoys especially working with chamber orchestras. She is a member of the European Union Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova.
Flora has been part of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Experience Scheme 2022 and Southbank Sinfonia Fellowship Scheme 2020 and 2021.
Flora has won the “Rancati Prize at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan and the first prize at the European Music Competition in Moncalieri (Italy).
She has always been interested in historical performance and has been part of different baroque ensembles such as Musica Antica Rotherhithe in London and Aura Musicale Budapest, with which she has performed in Innsbruck, Kuffstein and in the Grand Hall of the F. Liszt Music Academy in Budapest.
