17th & 18th Century Vocal Duets and Solos

Eden Baroque are delighted to be joined by soprano Anna Crookes for a programme of vocal duets, solos and instrumental music. Featuring the famous Lament from Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and Handel's heartfelt Lascia chio pianga from Rinalo, Lawes' playful Dialogue on a Kiss and Daniel Purcell's amorous My fairest, my dearest. Also included is Bach's wonderful aria Jesu soll mein erstes Wort from Cantata BWV 171, a tuneful harpsichord duet by Giordani, and other works by Rameau and Castello. The concert finishes with a folk-inspired medley featuring Scarborough Fair and Wild Mountain Thyme.
