Sarah Small
Good Again? Awakening the Seasons
featuring Emily Ashton and Isaac Louth (viols)

Disillusioned by the lack of support for sustainable touring within the arts, along with concerns about the impact and cost of audience travel from rural areas to venues in cities, she’s taking matters into her own hands and cycling from venue to venue to share her programme ‘Good Again?’ with audiences far and wide.
Centred around the title work ‘Good Againe’ by Tobias Hume, the programmes feature music expressing the feelings of grief, contemplation, and hope felt by many of us during these unstable times, along with tales from the road that remind us of the beauty in slow travel.
Collaborating with musicians as she reaches their local areas, Sarah is delighted to be joined for this performance by viol players Emily Ashton and Isaac Louth. Together they will present a programme featuring Christopher Simpson’s rarely performed ‘Spring’ and ‘May’ in addition to Forqueray’s 'Pieces a trois violes’ and Purcell’s Fantasias no. 1 & 3.
This performance also will include the premiere of Lillie Harris’ piece ‘Good Again?’ for solo viol, reflecting our response to the changing climate and specially commissioned for this tour.
