About

Once a month or so throughout the winter months St Andrew's Church Marks Tey plays host to top musicians from around the UK who bring us their passion projects. Most of our performers specialise in repertoire from before 1700. We've seen everything from solo Medieval harp from Leah Stuttard or unaccompanied Bach on violin with Jorge Jiminez to the York Waits with their raucous shawm band sound. Regular performers include Consort of 1, Blondel, Passamezzo and The Telling.

Our concerts are held on Sunday afternoons, usually (but not always - do check) at 2.30pm on the 1st Sunday of the month. Tickets are available in advance from our eventbrite page or for cash on the door where our discount scheme offers £1 off if you have the ticket from a previous concert in the same series. Under 18s get in free when accompanied by a paying adult. Concession priced tickets are avilable to anyone who asks for one on a pay-as-you-feel basis.

The members of the church provide us with hot drinks and biscuits either in the interval if there is one, or at the end of the performance for shorter programmes, and there is often the chance to chat informally with the performers over your brew. Donations for refreshments are collected for church funds.
