About

Stoke Newington Early Music Festival (SNEMF) promotes music from medieval times to the 19th century performed on period instruments. Programmes occasionally include 20th and 21st century works, either new compositions specifically written for period instruments, or modern works which relate stylistically to early music.

The 2025 Festival will run from 18 June until 4 July, with main evening events on 18, 23, 27 June, and 2 July. Ensembles include Lux Musicae London, Intesa Duo, and Rune, with Kinga Gaborjani completing her cycle of Bach's cello suites begun in 2019.

The festival features performers whose careers have taken them all over the world. Past ensembles have included the Consone Quartet, Chelys Consort of Viols, Fretwork, Flauguissimo Duo, Irlandiani and Trobairitz.
