About
Cambridge Early Music has raised the profile of music from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras to local, national and international audiences.
As well as promoting an annual series of concerts in the city of Cambridge, we also invite keen early musicians to participate in our Summer Schools, where they learn from specialist guest course directors. We also promote emerging artists through our annual Cambridge Early Music prize.
Run by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable board of trustees and an indefatigable Administrator, we punch above our weight in terms of the quality and quantity of events we promote. Artists in the past few years have included the Gesualdo Six, the Marian Consort, the Brook Street Band, the Academy of Ancient Music, Solomon's Knot and the Irish Baroque Orchestra, as well as smaller ensembles from the UK, Europe and the USA. Past recipients of the Cambridge Early Music Prize have included Sollazzo Ensemble, El Gran Teatro del Mundo, ApotropaïK and, most recently, Pfeyfferey, who will appear in concert in 2025.
