About

This recital series, now well into its second year, takes place in the glorious acoustic of St Clement Danes, a Wren church that was partially destroyed by a direct strike from an incendiary bomb in the Second World War. It now stands as an island in the Strand, with musical excellence at its core.

This year, it is co-hosted by Ana Beard Fernández, the music administrator, and Ensemble-in-Residence Liturina. Past performers include singers Jess Dandy, Rachel Fenlon, Shimona Thevathasen, Peter Lidbetter and Stuart O'Hara. Alongside Ensemble-in-Residence Liturina, further baroque performances have been given by Queenes Chappelle, Minerva Baroque, Rachel Allen and Kristiina Watt.

Attendees comment on the remarkably intimate feel to the recitals, despite the lofty venue, and friendly and welcoming atmosphere. All donations for this series (which is free to attend) go directly to the featured performers. There is occasionally a glass of bubbly available too!
