About

Sixteen days in November each year are devoted to glorious music-making in Wimbledon and nearby areas. The Festival period was chosen to embrace St Cecilia’s Day, November 22nd, to celebrate the Patron Saint of Music with events involving the community.

The Festival's aim has been to inspire audiences young and old by offering the opportunity of hearing some of the very best musicians in the world performing live in venues close to their doorsteps. This sixteenth edition of the festival is centred around the theme of storytelling.

Several early music concerts feature this year, including an appearance by the Armonico Consort, and a production of Handel's Jephtha by leading soloists and the Academy Choir and Baroque Players, a collective of players from the Royal Academy of Music. Leading early music ensembles perform Bach Cantatas, and Spanish early music ensemble La Guirlande present a Haydn double bill. Finally, distinguished harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani gives a recital.
